Parents love brag about their lovely newborn children to friends and relatives. Patricia Williams might agree, though.
She took pictures of her son, tenderly capturing him. But she had a bad shock when she tried to show off his photo collection to her pals.

Redd, Patricia’s son, was born in 2012. The little boy’s mother didn’t discover he had white hair until he was two months old, among other things.
Dale was shocked to learn that their baby’s eyes were flickering back and forth due to albinism.
Patricia was doubtful since she had never heard the term “albinism,” even though the kid displayed signs including extremely pale complexion, white hair, and wandering eyes.
For a more accurate diagnosis, the couple then sought the advice of an ophthalmologist and a geneticist.
Redd was found to have Oculocutaneous Albinism Type 1 (OCA1), which affects 1 in 17,000 people globally.
When Redd was born, Patricia recalls the hospital staff’s great expectations for him because of his unique white hair and blue eyes.
She didn’t blink an eye because Patricia, her husband, and their first-born son, Gage, all had blonde hair.
She recalled thinking about Redd’s hair a month after they had brought him home because it was so white that it glistened in the sunshine.
He followed her despite her attempts to turn away from him.
In certain circumstances, his gorgeous blue eyes might nearly pass for scarlet.
Patricia was aware that since the issue was congenital, her second kid might experience it as well.
Rockwell, who was born in February 2018, was afflicted from birth with the same condition as his twin. Social media users used modified photographs of the newborn baby to publish offensive remarks.
Due to his looks, Redd has regularly had to put up with taunts and insults on the playground. Gage, his older sibling, started keeping an eye out for him as a result.
Rockwell’s parents, however, were ready for him since they had done a lot of research on albinism before he was born. But they weren’t prepared for the internet sensationalization of their son’s photos.
Dale and Patricia initially attempted to contact each person who had shared the photograph to request that they take it down, but they immediately realized that this was not feasible.
After receiving the diagnosis, some kids made the conscious decision to disseminate awareness of the disorder in an effort to stop bullying in the future.
The doctors said that Patricia was horrified when she learned that Redd had albinism.
She was worried about the child’s future and relationship with the family due to the likelihood of legal blindness and the child’s vulnerability to searing pain.
She dispelled the rumor about Rockwell. In her words, “It’s very unusual to see a baby with white hair, and Rockwell’s hair sticks straight up, so it’s very noticeable.”
As a consequence of a meme portraying her kid becoming viral, she amassed a sizable following base. As time passed, she answered questions about her son’s looks and came to understand that many people were ignorant of albinism.
She recognized that the little she had learned about albinism had come from movies that had not done it justice. She understood that she had the opportunity to raise awareness of albinism.
Redd switched from a special school for the blind to a regular public school following strabismus surgery. Making the decision to get the surgery was the right one for Redd and his loved ones.
Redd’s family debated putting an eye patch on him, but opted against it since it would have made him stand out more.
Redd’s ‘differences’ were less obvious to his contemporaries as he got older.
Like any other young child, Redd needed a hat, some dark sunglasses, and sunscreen to play outside. Redd’s younger brother Rockwell fared well for himself as well.
Patricia published a video of Rockwell taking part in “Western Day” at his school on April 28, 2023.
This time, internet people showered the small youngster with encouragement and admiration. Numerous praises were made to the child, including the terms “cute” and “adorable.”
There is a misconception that persons with albinism have red eyes, Patricia said. She said that the reason for their eyes’ blue hue is a lack of ocular pigmentation.
Now the lads are happy and flourishing! We’re grateful to have such a wonderful family!
